Let’s do some automatic marker tracking!
Again,
Ø | Go to File and open up your AVI file. |
Ø | Figure out how many points you want to track. Let’s say 3 points. |
Ø | Go to Number of Points, use the arrow and click up to 3 |
Ø | If you want to Rename the points, right click on each one and rename them. |
Now, the automatic stuff,
Ø | To start to digitize, make sure that the Digitize, Auto Point and Auto Track are selected. The Digitize button tells the system that you are going to digitize. The Auto Point button tells the system that to advance to the next point and the Auto Track automatically finds the digitized points in each consecutive frame. |
Ø | Make sure in the point table that the first point is always highlighted. Typically, point #1 will correspond to the first point of interest in the AVI file.
For example, point #1 is the shoulder, point #2 is the elbow and point #3 is the wrist. |
Ø | Once you have digitized your points, start tracking by pressing the Play Forward button in the Video Controls. You can also press the Step Forward button if you want to autotrack one frame at a time. |
Ø | After you have finished your digitizing in all the frames, turn off the Digitize button. |
Note; The automatic marker tracking requires markers or landmarks that are brighter or darker than the background. In this example we use the default tracking settings. To change the tracking settings, select Tools-Options.
